Agent Carter series confirmed by ABC

At the Television Critics Association press tour, ABC confirmed that they are in fact working on what might become a Agent Carter TV series. Agent Peggy Carter was introduced in 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger. ABC president Paul Lee told IGN the script as “great” and said that “[The show] has a great chance of showing up on the network”.  Carter, played by Hayley Atwell, already made a comeback in the short Agent Carter that came with the Iron Man 3 Blu-Ray, in which it’s shown how she began working with SHIELD.

Lee also confirmed the story was written by Thor: The Dark World and Captain America: The Winter Soldier writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, with involvement from Reaper’s creators Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters. According to Butters “We’d be coming on as showrunners and being a part of the series. We’re very excited to be included in the Marvel family and to be a part of ABC Studios.”

Lee did not confirm whether or not a pilot has been ordered.
