Assassin’s Creed IV: Freedom Cry DLC will be released as standalone title, according to Ubisoft. In it, you play as Adewale, Edward Kenway’s first mate on the Jackdraw, as he takes the role of an Assassin to free his people.

Freedom Cry will be released on PlayStation platforms on February 18th, with Xbox platforms following one day later, and finally, PC receives the story DLC on February 25th. Being stand-alone means you won’t need a copy of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag to play it, so even if you don’t have the main game, you can experience Freedom Cry later this month when it releases for $14,99.
