Following the news of Law & Order‘s Jesse L. Martin being cast as Detective West, Flash has now announced who will play Barry Allen’s love interest, Iris West. According to Deadline.com Candice Patton will assume the role opposite Grant Gustin in the show’s pilot. Patton has been recently seen on the USA series The Game which focuses on a group of women who all have relationships with professional football players. In addition to Jesse L. Martin, Patton also joins Danielle Panabaker (Necessary Roughness) and Rick Cosnett (The Vampire Diaries) who were cast as Caitlin Snow and Detective Eddie Thawne.

As many DC fans can already see, the last two choices could possibly be Gustin’s first foes as Caitlin Snow is the alter ego of the New-52’s Killer Frost, and the name Eddie Thawne is an obvious nod Eobard Thawne who was the Reverse Flash before the New 52 reboot. Following the success of ArrowFlash will be executive produced by Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg, with famed DC writer Geoff Johns writing the pilot episode, which will most likely air with next fall’s line-up of new series.
