Hans Zimmer Set to Score Batman vs Superman

The tentatively titled Batman vs Superman was announced last July as a direct sequel to the blockbuster hit Man of Steel; but there has been no official word on whether Hans Zimmer would return. Today, in speaking with Digital Spy, the Academy Award winning composer confirmed his involvement with the highly anticipated film.

“We’ve already had a couple of chats, and once I finish the movie that I shall not talk about [Interstellar] I will probably head over to where Zack is shooting his movie and just hang out a bit and see if we can come up with any ideas.”

Despite Man of Steel getting a mixed reception from critics and fans alike, Hans score for the film has been widely praised. Due to his work on The Dark Knight Trilogy, fans may be wondering how Hans intends to differentiate Chris Nolan’s Batman from Zack Snyder’s. He addressed this unusual situation as well.

“That’s my problem, that’s my dilemma. I don’t want to betray, if that’s the right word, the Dark Knight movies. That was Christian, it was Christian’s role,” he explained. It’s not just that it was nine years of our lives, so you want to stay honest and honorable to that period. So it’s really about, ‘Is there something else I can find that I haven’t tapped into?’ Which I don’t know until I sit down with Zack.”

Well Hans has two years to figure it out as fans will get to see the first live action meeting between Superman and Batman on the silver screen on May 6th, 2016.
