Legends of Tomorrow Gets Its Archer

The Arrow universe has another archer.

Thursday, DC confirmed that Connor Hawke would be coming to television via Legends of Tomorrow. This new series is a spin-off from both The Flash and Arrow, and it follows a crack team of time-traveling heroes/villains as they try and stop the immortal Vandal Savage. While it appears that both Flash and the Green Arrow will appear in one or two episodes, Legends of Tomorrow will focus on an entirely separate group of characters, and no group is complete without an archer. This is where young Hawke comes into play.

Now, the tricky aspect of this announcement is the fact that Connor Hawke is Oliver Queen’s son. However, DC has revealed that this version of Hawke won’t actually be related to Queen.

On one hand, this announcement is exciting because we get to see Hawke all grown up and combat ready. On the other, this seems like a strange turn. If you remember, Arrow had an episode in season two that focused on Queen’s illegitimate child. This episode seemed at the time to be the subtle introduction of an infant Connor Hawke. Sadly, this isn’t the case and now that episode feels like wasted effort.

Legends of Tomorrow will premiere in January after a major Arrow/The Flash crossover episode. Hopefully we will get to see Hawke at that point. Until then, we will just sit around and predict which actor will take up that quiver.
