Mayamada launches second kickstarter to fund Samurai Chef.

A couple months back, we introduced you to Mayamada, a clothing company with a unique idea. They want to share the fictional television station that serves as a home for the characters they use on their clothing, and they want to do it in comic book format. It was a bit disheartening to see Nigel and Lao fall short of their goals, and not get the funding they needed to share the second part of their story Samurai Chef . But wait, for all hope is not lost! Samurai Chef will see the light of day thanks to a second campaign, launched last week, to cover the printing costs of the book. It’s great to be able to report that tenacity has served this team well, as their campaign has doubled their intended goals in less than a week. The campaign is also a staff pick, and the backer rewards are pretty sweet. Because they’re a clothing company, Mayamada is offering limited edition t-shirts and sweatshirts, as well as mugs to their backers. They’re also creating personalized comics for the backers at the highest tier, creating an original character to face off against the samurai chef in a one-on-one battle!

All told, the book will be around 150 pages, and will begin printing and shipping in November from the UK. I strongly suggest that you take a look at the campaign and get your copy of the entire Samurai Chef saga now.

Mayamada can be found here, on their website as well as on twitter as @mayamada.
