Yes. You can start to flip the hell out now. Guillermo Del Toro has confirmed a sequel to last year’s Pacific Rim, and it’s coming April 7, 2017.

It’s a long wait, but to help us deal with it, Del Toro also announced a new comic book series that will follow the events of Pacific Rim: Tales of Year Zero, a graphic novel that is set before the first movie and that you should totally read. But wait, there’s more, an animated series is also on the works. “We’re all very happy to bring you more Kaijus, more Yaegers, kicking each other’s butts” says Del Toro in a video message, which you can watch below.

Speaking to BuzzFeed, Del Toro said the characters he loves will come back. “Raleigh, Mako, Newt, Gottlieb and who knows, maybe even Hannibal Chau – but we are taking them into a fresh territory that will display amazing sights and battles. The first film set the stage and now we’re ready to have a blast.” It’s interesting to note Del Toro is changing studios for Pacific Rim 2, dropping out of Warner Bros. Pictures to Universal, likely due to Legendary Pictures also making that switch. Del Toro has changed studios before, as Hellboy went from Revolution/Sony to Paramount.

Zak Penn and Travis Beechum, who wrote the first film, are also attached to the sequel. Yes, you can scream now.
