DC

Superman Unchained #7

Written by: Scott Snyder

Art by: Jim Lee

Do you remember #6? I don’t!! But I remember loving this series! This week brings us the return of the critically acclaimed Superman Unchained series. I don’t know what affect the delays will have on the popularity of this series but I for one think it is definitely worth picking up for the great storytelling and the wonderful art. I am hoping for some excellent and memorable Superman moments as we have had in previous issues and that the threads will be tied together by Snyder. To be honest this book will be worth picking up just for the Jim Lee art which we so rarely get to see nowadays but with Snyder at the helm the story is bound to be just as good as the way it looks. So get reading the previous couple of issues to bring you bang up to date in time to pick this up on Wednesday!!

Marvel

Guardians of the Galaxy : Galaxy’s Most Wanted #1

Written by: Will Pilgrim

Art by: Andrea Di Vito

Its time for every bodies favorite cosmic rogue to step up to the plate. Rocket Raccoon and Groot star in this new series, the art pages that we have been treated to in previews look pretty rad and I am really hoping that this book will shine. Without thinking too negatively, I can’t think why Marvel would want to release a Guardians of the Galaxy tie in book in the Summer of 2014. Either way the solicit sounds fun (so colour me tickled), yet not very revealing what has Rocket done to make Groot possibly want to arrest him. The issue is also going to have a back up featuring Thor #314. I AM GROOT!

Independent

RoboCop #1

Written by: Joshua Williamson

Art by: Carlos Magno

Published by: Boom! Studios

If you remember the 1987 film with great fondness and you were angered by the sequels and all that followed then this book is for you! This is the original RoboCop in an ongoing series set in the same world as the 1987 original movie picking up just after it finished. If you are a fan of Josh Williamson, and he has been doing some great work on “Ghosted” and “Nailbiter” over at Image, then you should also pick this up. It has a sort of Gotham Central type feel to it and will naturally involve a lot of crime and corruption. Sounds good to me!!

Which books are you looking forward to this Wednesday, let us know in the comments……
