Welcome to the thirteenth instalment of the new weekly feature bringing you comic book previews on what we are looking forward to each and every week. The general rule will be that we will pick one indie, one DC and one Marvel and if merited an honorable mention (or two).

So if you are deciding how to spend your money this week on New Comic Book Day, don’t worry, we got you covered!! Here are a handful we think you should pick up!

DC

Here it is, the final issue of Green Arrow from this creative team. Yes it’s a Futures End tie in and I am not a huge fan of that series, nor are a lot of people from what I’ve heard, but despite that it is still written by the team that turned around this character for DC. Their run will go down as one of the best for Green Arrow, and though they ended it off superbly in the final issue of the main series, part of me is hoping this is just as good and establishes a new way of a send-off. Even if you are not picking up any DC books this September, this is definitely one I think you should break that rule for.

MARVEL

I really haven’t been a fan of the past two volumes of Wolverine’s solo series by Paul Cornell. It started off really exciting with the Killable storyline but has slowly declined since then. This book however has really sparked my interest. Not only is it written by one of my favourite writers, but I am also glad to hopefully see the last of Sabretooth and concentrate on Wolverine the mutant and not some age old war with a nemesis that has been way over used over the last few years. I am really excited for this and any fan of X-Men or Avengers surely will be too, so this is definitely one not to be missed this week, and for the next few weeks.

INDIE

Publisher: BOOM!

This new miniseries from BOOM! has a really interesting premise and one that I have been looking forward to since I read the solicit a few weeks ago. It has been described as a story about the Robin Hood of Wall Street combining street magic with a spy-fi thriller. How good does that sound? A street illusionist gets caught up in something big and end up joining a Black Ops organisation called CLOAKS. I usually pick up new books based on the creative team, and I have to be honest I haven’t read much from either the writer or the artist, however the solicit has me really interested and I really think this book is worth taking a look at on Wednesday.

Which books are you looking forward to this Wednesday, let us know in the comments……
