Now I have to admit, I sort of fell off Green Lantern during the UPRISING crossover storyline. I have been a fan of the series ever since Johns run, and when Venditti took over it started really promising with the whole lights out story, but since then in my opinion it has sort of got lost in doing a lot of crossovers with the Corps book. Here is hoping for a new start and just because I didn’t like the last arc doesn’t mean I’m not going to like the new one, and what could be more fitting for a new arc than to have the newest human Green Lantern, Simon Baz in this issue. Yes, you heard me right, SIMON BAZ!! Where has he been I hear you ask? I have no idea, but I am hoping we will get to find out. Even if this issue just gives me an update on Baz I will be happy, but according to the solicit the final pages of this issue will signal the start of the biggest Lantern story yet!! How exciting! But let’s hope for no more crossovers!

Final Issue with the current creative team! Boo! Hiss! Sob! This has truly been a spectacular run, with very little that one can complain about. This series has been blessed with some of the best artwork in a current ongoing series and has fitted with Ellis’s writing and story telling so perfectly. It really will be sad to see this team leave this book, and six issues just seems too short, but hopefully they will end their run on a high and with as much panache as the previous 5 that have gone before it. Hopefully Brian Wood and Greg Smallwood will be able to pick up and run with what has been left for them, and continue this great series.

I don’t know about you but this series has really captured everything I love. There is suspense, mystery, technology, lust, and a fantastic sense of doom too. So far in this series we have seen so many different aspects of the characters that it feels like we have known Alex and Ada for a considerable amount of time. And what I enjoy most about this series are the interactions between our two main characters, but all that could be about to change as we saw at the end of the last issue that restrictions are being put into place with regards to androids and this is going to have significant effects on Alex and Ada especially as she feels unsure about her place in Alex’ life and the world in general.

Which books are you looking forward to this Wednesday, let us know in the comments……
