Welcome to the twenty forth instalment of the wish list bringing you what comics we, Comics Section Editors Oscar Russell & Joel Raivid, are looking forward to each and every week.

Sorry we haven’t been around the past couple of weeks, but we have been working on the sites new comics podcast which you can check out last weeks first edition here. And look out for future shows by subscribing on iTunes.

So if you are deciding how to spend your money this week on New Comic Book Day, don’t worry, we got you covered!! Here are a handful we think you should pick up!

DC

jlu7Justice League United #7

Written by: Jeff Lemire

Art by: Neil Edwards & Jay Leisten

The Infinitus Saga continues as the JLU battles the Legion of Super-Heroes over the fate of the innocent alien who may grow up to destroy the 31st century! After the long winded first arc this series has really started to grow on me. I am loving the relationship between Animal Man and Green Arrow, whom Lemire shows a great familiarity with. The solicit doesn’t say anything that we haven’t seen already from this latest arc so I am not sure what to expect, but hopefully things will kick off from here.

MARVEL

uncxmentann1Uncanny X-Men Annual #1

Written by: Brian Michael Bendis

Art by: Andrea Sorrentino

How often do we get an annual with a second string creative team? Well this is certainly not the case here, with the powerhouses of Bendis & Sorrentino this is surely going to be a treat. Bendis has promised that this issue will lay the seeds for some major stories to come, so this is definitely not one to skip this week.

INDIE

thevaliant1The Valiant #1

Written by: Jeff Lemire & Matt Kindt

Art by: Paolo Rivera

Publisher: Valiant Comics

The second Lemire book of the week in this list, and if you are only picking up one of his books this week, then I urge you to pick this one up. Valiant books have just been so good recently and everyone should have at least one on their pull list. If you haven’t got one yet then definitely pick this up. This issue is definitely designed to be new reader friendly, but it’s also introduces you to several of the publisher’s popular characters so this is a great chance to enter the Valiant Universe. We really can’t recommend this issue enough, check out our advance review here.

Which books are you looking forward to this Wednesday, let us know in the comments……
