Welcome to the twenty first instalment of the weekly feature bringing you comic book previews on what we are looking forward to each and every week. Brought to you by our Comics Section Editors, Oscar Russell & Joel Raivid, with the general rule being that they will pick one indie, one DC and one Marvel and if merited an honorable mention (or two) that they think you should go and splash your cash on.

So if you are deciding how to spend your money this week on New Comic Book Day, don’t worry, we got you covered!! Here are a handful we think you should pick up!

ww35Wonder Woman #35

It’s finally here, unfortunately. The end of what has been my favourite ever run on Wonder Woman. Well to be honest, this is the only run of Wonder Woman I have ever read as I have previously been disinterested in the character. Everything which Azzarello has been building over the past 34 issues is going to come to blows here in this final issue and I am so excited to see how this story wraps up.

There have been many different versions of this character, what this new series has to offer we will just have to wait and see. Just like DC has done with Deathstroke and drawing on his popularity from Arrow (last week new #1), Marvel is releasing a new series with this character having become popular in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D first season. Whether it is a gimmick or not to profit on this current popularity, it doesn’t matter, as this new series has a really strong creative team and being a big fan of Edmonson’s other current Marvel work I am really looking forward to what he has to offer on this truly classic character.

The issue before the hiatus so you know it’s going to be good!! Last issue really set the stage for a fantastic conclusion to this part of the story and I genuinely have no idea what to expect from this issue apart from amazingness. After the cliffhanger of last issue, this issue could easily be a classic. When this arc started off, I really wasn’t keen on where the series was heading, but over the course of the past few issues my concern was truly eased it what has been another superbly written and fantastic looking arc.

Which books are you looking forward to this Wednesday, let us know in the comments……
