If you’ve been wondering what exactly EA has been up to with their Star Wars license, you won’t have to wait long.

In EA’s financial call today, they announced the release dates of two upcoming Star Wars games. First is the sequel to the hit Star Wars: Battlefront. In their fiscal year report, EA revealed that Star Wars: Battlefront has already sold over 14 million copies. A sequel was a no-brainer, but it’s surprising that we are going to see one as soon as next year.

The other Star Wars game that was announced is a new title from Dead Space developer: Visceral. This Star Wars action game is currently scheduled for a 2018 release.

What to expect from these games?

EA did not mention if the upcoming Star Wars: Battlefront is indeed Battlefront II or a spin-off. EA has already announced a PSVR exclusive Battlefront title. With Battlefront still having three expansion packs in the work, it does seem early for a full-blown sequel, making it likely this new Battlefront game is the PSVR spin-off instead.

Visceral Games hasn’t done much since Dead Space, but they made big news when they nabbed the creative director of the hugely successful and critically acclaimed Uncharted series—Amy Hennig. We don’t know much about this title other than the talent involved. One thing we can be sure of for Visceral’s Star Wars game is that it will be filled with likeable characters in a well written story.
