Legenderry: Red Sonja #3 Review

Welcome to my review of Legenderry: Red Sonja #3. First I shall give you a basic outline of the events. It starts with Sonja captured at the hands of an insane scientist. We then switch into a very long monologue where he tries to sway Sonja to his side. We see the frankly horrifying experiments he has been working on, and then we return Sonja to her cell. She soon escapes and this is where we get the action sequence of the book where she fight s very large monster of a man. Before going on the run when she finally escapes though it is just into more danger. And that is where it ends. So now I give you my thoughts on the quality of the issue itself.

The story is serviceable. It is in the middle of the story and is very much that boring middle part. Just a ton of exposition. None of which is extremely well delivered. It’s not bad, but its not great either. There are also some pretty creepy overtones and not necessarily in a good way.  Sonja starts off captured and ends in danger in what is probably my favorite part an awesome and ridiculous cliffhanger. I won’t spoil it suffice to say it’s cool. And the action is alright as well once again nothing special but it works. Overall the plot is OK not bad, but not great.

The art on the other hand I very much enjoy. It has a very cool style. With an almost desaturated look. I think the character designs are pretty great honestly. And everything is clear. No confusing action. The lettering is fine it works well. No issues with it. And the final panel previously mentioned is awesome. So yeah I quite enjoyed the art.

Overall it is an OK read. Nothing special but nothing bad either. I would recommend it if you have some spare cash lying around and want to check out the art (Though you should probably read the previous 2 issues first).
