Welcome to the thirty first instalment of the wish list bringing you what comics we, Comics Section Editors Oscar Russell & Joel Raivid, are looking forward to each and every week. So if you are deciding how to spend your money this week on New Comic Book Day, don’t worry, we got you covered!!
Oscar and I hope you are enjoying the new comics podcast which you can check out by subscribing on iTunes, we have been off the air the past three weeks for numerous reasons but don’t worry we will be coming back with a bang this week all being well!
Last week saw the release of some huge comics, this week is no different with DC giving us a new issue of the every improving Batman/Superman, one of the last Batman Eternal issues, and the “Converging!” FUTURES END. Marvel meanwhile also have some cool stuff coming out with next part of the Black Vortex event in Guardians Team Up #3, and the second issues of Silk and Princess Leia. From other publishers we have Image releasing the second issue of Secret Identities, and débuting new series Red One, new issues of Alex + Ada, C.O.W.L., and Zero. Dark Horse has the second issue of Ei8ht, while Valiant also have some great books this week, with the third issue of Ivan, Time Walker, and Divinity #2. So much goodness!!!
Here are a handful we are particularly looking forward to and think you should pick up!

Last issue was pretty cool with the reveal of a new power and the reveal of Superman’s secret identity to a long time supporting cast member of the series. I haven’t seen any previews for this issue, so I don’t know if they are going to pick up where they left off with Superman powerless, or just completely jump to a different time period. Either way, I am looking forward to enjoying the last couple of issues of this run.

A new creative team, wahoo! I have been loving this series, and it is a really interesting concept Marvel are trying with the shift in creative teams every 5 or 6 issues. This will be the first shift with a new colourist so it will be interesting to see the new tone, what’s most exciting though is seeing what the unique talent of Cullen Bunn is going to do with Mr Spector.

Even if I had no idea what this series was about, I would be picking this up based on the creative team alone. However, knowing what it is about adds to the excitement! We are going to be served up a televised time-travel masterpiece, and as a four-issue mini-series, be sure to go to your LCS before they run out.
Which books are you looking forward to this Wednesday, let us know in the comments……
