E3 ANNOUNCEMENT: Assassin’s Creed Unity Co-op Gameplay

Microsoft

Assassin’s Creed Unity

Ubisoft

Q4 2014

Earlier today at E3, Ubisoft gave us a taste of Assassin’s Creed Unity’s gameplay. The game is set in 18th Century France during the height of the French Revolution, in which you play the role of Victor Dorian.

The gameplay we saw showed an assassination mission in which Dorian infiltrated a crowd, got by the guards, broke into a heavily fortified building and found his target. However, this stood out from what we’ve seen so far from Assassin’s Creed because the character was not alone. Throughout the mission, we were able to see other other assassins (identified by the AC logo above their heads) aiding in the infiltration, and these were controlled by other human players. This co-op feature seemed incredibly smooth, and promises to allow players to use unique methods and approaches to missions in the future. The added depth that this strategy will bring promises to heighten the Assassin’s Creed gameplay, and will hopefully allow the game to develop in new and intriguing ways.

Assassin’s Creed Unity will be released on October 28, 2014 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
