Lego Movie Sequel Confirmed

According to Variety, a sequel to The Lego Movie has already been confirmed. So far, the movie has made over 150 million dollars in the domestic box office, and an additional 50 million internationally, and is set to open in new markets this weekend and throughout this week.

The sequel is, so far, untitled, and has been set to be released on May 26th of 2017. It is currently the only movie set to release on that date, more than three years into the future. Screenwriters Jared Stern and Michelle Morgan have been confirmed for the sequel, but no directors and actors are attached at this point.

The Lego Movie opened on February 7th to both critical and commercial success. This, combined with its cliff hanger-ish ending made a sequel inevitable, but it is now confirmed. We the Nerdy’s own Henry Varona awarded the movie a stellar score of 9.5 which you can read here.
