Last week The Pokémon Company hinted at a new “shocking announcement” that would be coming soon, and they’ve made good on that statement this morning.
During today’s broadcast, a new fighting game titled “Pokken Tournament” was was revealed.
Planned for a 2015 Japanese arcade release, the new title will be developed by Bandai Namco – the same team responsible for the Tekken franchise.
A teaser video was also released, showing Lucario and Machamp at odds with each other in a scenic field outside of what appears to be a village or town from the Pokémon universe which can be seen below from IGN’s YouTube channel.
Could this be he natural progression of the Pokémon franchise that former “Stadium” series fans would enjoy? The fighting is certainly flashy with that familiar Tekken character weight.
