7th Sword #3 Review

This issue of the 7th Sword has kept my instant fan status. After reading the first two issues, the third did not disappoint, and left me counting down the days until the fourth installment.

We start off with Cray, a stranded Earthing training the volunteer fighters of the city Zenzion. Their hopes are to fend off the evil Warlord known as Kavanaugh, who has given them two weeks to surrender or be destroyed. Cray has been tasked with finding fighters capable of wielding the six Malathane Swords that the city of Zenzion possess.

Raffo did a great job with the writing in this comic it is not complex or hard to follow. It gives you just the right amount of detail needed to progress the story and get to the point. The art of Iman and Sirois is amazing and very simplistic. It has all the right shadows, light, and colors on the subject in the story without drowning them in over complicated background art. Even though this issue did not have a lot of action, the time spent learning more about the characters was happily welcomed.

This comic seems to have everything going for it. Robots, mutants, samurai, and did I mention we are on another planet? If I only had one gripe, it would be that I wish the comic had a little more length to it. Other then that, an all around great read.
