Justice League #31 was, to put it simply a great issue! Johns delivers with a fast pace story line that grabs you right away.
We finally get a look at the ring after it chooses its puppet, and the powers of what it can do, but only for a short time. Then we jump to Lex and Bruce at the Wayne manner, and what happens there is mind blowing and pretty much gives us the only action in this issue. We check in with some different heroes in the league and some newly appointed heroes that aren’t in the league. All of the subtle things, together with great character development, pushes you through the issue fast, but in a great way.
Mahnke keeps the art amazing throughout the comic. The art seemed so immersive that it felt like I was watching a cinematic adventure rather than reading a comic.
Even though there was not much action the issue was packed with great information, and as always the comedy between league members was great. I can’t say that not having a lot of action is a bad thing, I just like action. But I can tell that this story feels like it is headed to a fast, action packed place. Johns is clearly not afraid of doing crazy off the wall things that you don’t see coming unless you pick this issue up.
You wont be sorry, this is a must!
