Teen Titans has been given the chance for a “re-do”, and to be blunt I believe this red-do is something DC is doing right. I was a Teen Titans fan from the start of the New 52 relaunch, so seeing it done over, is a great thing for me and other Titan fans out there.

We begin this first issue immediately with a big problem for a bus full of little girls traveling to New York on a field trip. A group of terrorists have taken control of the bus and are barrelling down the streets in an attempt to take out S.T.A.R. Labs. Thankfully Wonder Girl and Red Robin aren’t far away from the scene of the crime and begin taking control of the situation. Pfiefer does a fantastic job of¬†introducing the heroes and touching on their personalities, while Rocafort slam dunks breathtaking art with likeness and detail. Pfiefer takes us all over the city to see Red Robin working behind the scenes, figuring out exactly what this terrorist group wants, and communicating with other Titans such as Beast Boy, Raven, and Bunker. We also get the pleasure of seeing what the employees of S.T.A.R. Labs goes through tactically and emotionally while this threat is happening.

The whole issue revolves around this problem, and my only disappointment is that I kept waiting for a “Holy Cow!” moment, and unfortunately it never came. Pfiefer does however have something huge up his sleeve, because S.T.A.R. Labs and the Teen Titans kept talking about “She”. A lead female terrorist that somehow orchestrated the entire event, and escaped the situation.

Overall, it was a great first issue that properly reintroduced these characters, and gave you a great perspective on what kind of abilities they have. The situation itself seemed a little lacking, but I do have the BIGGEST feeling that “She” will be highly involved in awful things that the Teen Titans will have to clean up. I give it a thumbs up, and hope you’ll give it the chance it deserves to bring the Teen Titans back from “the dead”
