Madden 15 has finally made a decision in the most important NFL-related debate ever—who is the best cornerback in the league? Richard Sherman finished his season as a Super Bowl champion and the Madden cover athlete, and now he has become the highest rated player in Madden 15.
Sherman leads all cornerbacks with a 99 overall rating, based on his coverage skills and jumping. The only area that he lacks an impressive rating is strength, which is listed at a 72.
The rest of the top 5 are listed below.
1) Richard Sherman (Seattle Seahawks) – 99 Overall
2) Darrelle Revis (New England Patriots) – 97 Overall
3) Joe Haden (Cleveland Browns) – 95 Overall
4) Patrick Peterson (Arizona Cardinals) – 93 Overall
5) Vontae Davis (Indianapolis Colts) – 92 Overall
I’m not at all surprised that Sherman is listed as the top cornerback in Madden 15; however, I do find it strange that Patrick Peterson is listed as the fourth best cornerback. The great debate about best cornerback in the NFL is between Peterson and Sherman, not Joe Haden or Darrelle Revis. Of course, Haden and Revis are quieter players who generally avoid arguments and let their play do the talking instead. Madden Ratings Czar Donny Moore must see something in Peterson’s game that doesn’t stack up with Revis, Haden, or Sherman.
Madden 15 will be released August 26.
