Aquaman getting a second book? What a nice surprise. Since their introduction to The New 52 with Geoff Johns’ run on Aquaman, The Others have become fan favorite characters. Since his arc with them, John Ostrander has done a couple of issues centering around the characters.
And now, they’re getting their own series. Title Aquaman and the Others, it is set to be released on April 2nd of this year. Dan Jurgens (Justice League International) will be writing, and art will be supplied by both Lan Medina (Fables, Punisher Max) and Ed Tadeo (District X, Silver Surfer). Interestingly enough, both artists are Filipino. From what we know of the series, the initial plot will focus around Aquaman, The Operative, Prisoner of War, Ya’Wara, and Sky dealing with an opponent stealing Atlantean artifacts.
Though this will star the character, Jeff Parker and Paul Pelletier’s Aquaman will continue as normal for the foreseeable future. This is DC taking a risk, and it’s definitely nice.
