Remember the Batman Arkham Knight gameplay reveal from E3? Sony debuted gameplay that was interrupted by a menacing Scarecrow monologue as the lights went out in the theater. Apparently this wasn’t just to debut the main antagonist in the next Rocksteady title, it also was a nod to the fact that PS4 owners will have exclusive access to what is being called the Batman: Arkham Knight Scarecrow Nightmare Pack. Which is described as the following: “Tear through the city in the all-new batmobile and face off against a towering vision of Scarecrow and his undead army as they spread terror on the streets, available exclusively on Playstation 4.” From what we can imagine, this will be similar to the Scarecrow missions in Arkham Asylum, where Batman has been dosed with Scarecrow’s fear toxin, and has to fight through some dangerous hallucinations. This hallucination is said to “transform the famous city into a twisted, hellish nightmare…” and as the description says, you will be fighting a “towering vision of Scarecrow.”
What’s interesting about this news is the lack of an indication that this would be timed exclusive content or permanently exclusive to Sony’s platform. We’ll keep an eye out, but once we know more details we’ll be sure to share them with you! Batman Arkham Knight will be releasing on PS4, XBO, and PC in 2015.
