Blue Prince is a unique title, a mix of both roguelite and a first person puzzle game. You play as the heir to a 45 room mansion, with the goal to find the 46th room. There’s a catch to this- you can’t bring any tools with you, and you can’t stay overnight. Each night the mansion resets, and you need to replot your path each day, Initially you’re faced with three doors in a foyer. Each door gives you three choices, and you need to arrange the rooms both in the best order to reach the 46th room as well as provide you with necessary items such as keys and gems to allow you to proceed on your journey. Each room contains notes to read, and each run you learn more about the family and staff who lived there. The runs make for an interesting time, as you uncover more lore. The gameplay forms an addictive loop, rewarding you each time with more knowledge. The game does recommend you keep a notebook to help keep track of clues and help to refresh your memory as you plot out the rooms. It’s a well done system, making it both easy to hop in and out as well as hook you for an extended play session.

PROS
Engaging and interesting gameplay loop
Plenty of lore to uncover
Satisfying puzzles to solve
Items add to each run allowing different things to aid you
Each run feels rewarding
CONS
Some puzzles can feel random and can frustrate
The randomness of the room selection can lead to dead ends
Item management can be tricky, as items reset each day along with the rooms

In all, Blue Prince is a breath of fresh air, providing a captivating and rewarding experience. The gameplay has a wonderfully addictive loop, making it easy to get lost in trying just one more run. For those who enjoy puzzle games, this is a must play. Well worth checking out.
