Welcome to our new feature bringing you a roundup of my thoughts on some of this weeks comics. I didn’t get a lot of reading done this week yet so this is a short week, but there are some great issues and some not so great that I just had to let you know about.
DC Comics
I really don’t know what the ending of Robin War had to do with anything that is happening with Dick Grayson, as there have been no developments of those events within this series. As a huge fan of the series in general though, I was really disappointed with this issue, the issue itself just seemed like a series of battles and not much of a story at all.
With Darseid War nearing its conclusion, this series just keeps getting better, and this issue was just epic storytelling done perfectly. There is a great mix of story progression and some wonderful action scenes. Fabok is killing it and it will be sad when these two are off this series.

Superman: The Coming of the Supermen #1
Sorry Neal Adams fans, I just couldn’t get into this issue. The story is quite out there and confusing, and yes some might say I am overthinking it and this is just a jam packed fun book, but nevertheless, none of anything made any sense and I definitely won’t be coming back for more.

Superman: Lois & Clark #4
This is a great series, perhaps one of my favourites at the moment. The creative team make you believe this is the Superman we grew up with as opposed to a lot of what we have seen since 2011. Lois and Clark being together is great, having them raise a son is great, and having loads of secrets is just great fun. This series offers it all with suspense, action, and superb story telling. Plus Batman has a cool couple of pages in this issue.

All-New, All-Different Avengers #6
This series really works period. It’s completely different to an Avengers book I have read in a while and really works the team into the story very well. The story manages to be centered on the newer avengers such as Nova, Ms Marvel, & Spider-Man, while giving us detailed and interesting story progression in the love life of Thor and Cap, and the fight scenes between Vision and Iron Man. All in all this was a great arc and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
For once a really well done one-hot! Definitely the most coherent issue of the series yet. The art was perfect for the storytelling and the inclusion of Steve Rogers wasn’t just a gimmick, there was a great dynamic between the two characters and really made for a fun read.
Vertigo Comics
The saga continues of the pill popping wannabe superhero. This series has surprised me from the start. When I first read it I thought it would be similar to MPH, but it is so much more. The art is perfect for the story, the writing is clever, witty and perfectly captures the characters essence. There is a hysterical sequence in this issue where the story of one character is happening in the background of our main characters sequence and he tries to act like nothing is happening, the art on this scene was remarkable and funny. I am really enjoying this one and hope you are too.
