Destiny DLC Announced!

Bungie has announced the release date of The Dark Below, the first of the two currently slated pieces of DLC for their Co-Op Shooter. You and your fellow guardians can expect to jump into this Hive-focused content pack on December 9th, for a cool $19.99 or as part of the $35.99 Season Pass which will also give you expansion numero two – House of Wolves.

So now that you’ve handed your lunch money over to Bungie, what will you be getting in return? Well, Bungie will be adding more variety to your arsenal with brand new weapons and armor, which will help you upgrade to their new light level cap of 32. You’ll also have the opportunity to carry around more bounties with five additional slots, but there is no word on whether the bounty-dude will offer more bounties each day. As far as story content is concerned you’ll be introduced to Eris, who has come to The Tower with a dire warning. The Hive are trying to summon their God-King Crota, who upon arrival will, presumably, descend upon earth and smote all of humanity. You and your team of guardians are the only ones who can stop it (not including everyone else who owns the game), and will have to complete 3 new missions, a new strike – The Will of Crota, and a brand new Raid – Crota’s end, in destiny-the-dark-below-expansion-content-revealed-1414581750032order to prevent Crota’s return.

In addition to this, Crucible lovers will be excited to receive 3 new maps: Pantheon, a close corridor battleground set inside the black garden; Skyshock, an abandoned defense array; and The Cauldron, a close-quarters, hive-themed map.

And then, separate from the DLC pack, PlayStation players will receive a new strike called The Undying Mind, as a part of Sony’s continued exclusivity deal with Activision/Bungie.
