E3 2014: Far Cry 4 gameplay presentation

With the quiet lull of a beautifully orchestrated intro topped with a floral looking Ubisoft logo to start off their E3 2014 press conference, we are introduced to a van full of unlikely travelers stuck together with a comically sassy monkey. The character who we are seeing the world through is speaking to an a local who is giving him instructions on how to contain himself while they cross a border. Unfortunately, things aren’t so fortunate for the protagonist as the border patrol opens fire. A helicopter comes down revealing who has become infamously known as the main villain of the game due to the original artwork for the cover.

Far Cry 4 appears to be even more complex than it originally was teased as, whether we have seen only the beginning of this King’s insanity or if that’s as far as it’ll reach is only going to be figured out with time. As Dan Hay, executive producer of Far Cry 4, said the in-game cinematic was only the first five minutes of the game,  I’m really looking forward to seeing more about the game as I thoroughly enjoyed Far Cry 3 & Blood Dragon. Far Cry 4 is due out in mid-November internationally.
