E3 2014: No Man’s Sky Demands Your Attention

It’s been a while since a trailer has filled me with as much glee, excitement, and vigor as the trailer for No Man’s Sky. To put it frankly it “put me on the jazz.”

The game is the tireless work of 4 dudes that make up Hello Games. 4 guys showed all the big dogs in the room what’s what in my humble opinion. In the game players begin on a remote uncharted planet. And I mean uncharted because the engine of the game is procedural which means it’s creating terrain in real time. Meaning no one else playing the game has been to your planet. That is discovery in it upmost form. You then climb in your star fighter and without any load screens fly into space. From there you can travel to remote systems other players have discovered or get into a good ole’ fashioned dog fight.

The game takes seamless exploration to the next level and did I mention it is absolutely gorgeous? The fauna and terrain is stunningly colorful and different on each planet and wildlife can be charted and discovered just as planets can.

Not to shabby from a studio of 4 guys who not to long ago lost a large portion of their work to a flood in their offices. All though no release date was given  the game will be making it’s console debut on the PlayStation 4, which personally surprised and delighted me as I was certain it would end up at least a Xbox One timed exclusive if not a legit exclusive. Check out the trailer below and be sure to keep this game on your radar.
