Following the release of six Pop Vinyl figures based on the trading card game Magic: The Gathering over the summer, Funko has announced a second series of the figures. With the first wave including the Mirrodin Five – Jace Beleren, Liliana Vess, Chandra Nalaar, Ajani Goldmane, and Garruk Wildspeaker – plus Nissa Revane, the new series adds an additional six Planeswalkers to the line up. The official release is as follows:
Introducing…
Magic: The Gathering Pop! Series 2!We are excited to introduce six new characters from the Magic: The Gathering universe.
We’ve turned some of your favorite Planeswalkers into pint sized powerful allies!
They may be small, but they still have all the magic! This time around we’ve added the menacing Nicol Bolas as a 6″ super sized Pop!
Be careful…He could crush your soul!
Yes, everyone’s favorite Grixis Planeswalker, Nicol Bolas, will be getting a Pop figure! In addition, we will be getting Elspeth Tirel, who was recently reprinted as Elspeth: Sun’s Champion in the Theros Block. Also joining the line up is Kiora Atua, who made her debut as Kiora: The Crashing Wave in the Born of the Gods expansion. The third new addition is Sarkhan Vol, likely released due to his key role in the lore behind the newest block of Magic, Khans of Tarkir.
Rounding out this set are Gideon Jura (last seen as Gideon, Champion of Justice in Gatecrash), and Tezzeret, the Artificer.
Notably absent from the line up are Sorin Markov, despite his recent reprint, and the other Theros block Planeswalkers – Xenagos and Ashiok.
