Yesterday, at San Diego Comic Con, Marvel rolled out a trailer for an all new animated series, hitting Disney XD: Guardians of the Galaxy. After the team’s appearances in both Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and Ultimate Spider Man, plus the positive reactions to the upcoming movie, it makes sense that they would be getting their own TV show. There was a 60-second trailer released, featuring Rocket Raccoon and Star-Lord.
Unfortunately, this trailer has not seen wide release yet.
In order to build hype for the TV show, the team will be featured in all three of Marvel’s other animated series that currently air on Disney XD; Ultimate Spider Man, Hulk: Agents of S.M.A.S.H., and Avengers Assemble. Speaking of which, formal announcements were made that both Hulk and Avengers will be getting second seasons at Marvel’s animation panel.
New seasons of the existing shows will begin this fall. There is currently no information on a possible release date for Guardians of the Galaxy, but sometime in 2015 seems likely.
