DC will definitely have announcements at this year’s SDCC, but the biggest ones will undoubtedly be anything relating to the still murky Man of Steel sequel. We have already seen images of both Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck as the dynamic duo, but this image of Batman came out of nowhere.
The image was released by DC Entertainment as part of the 75th anniversary of Batman.
The Batman we see is definitely reminiscent of The Dark Knight Returns. Although this was clear from the previous image from the movie, this image almost confirms the costume’s inspiration. The movie was initially regarded by many as premature, however, The Dark Knight Returns is some excellent source material for a film. It is also still unknown whether this movie will adapt the popular graphic novel, or follow its own story.
