It’s another movie-heavy week as we continue on through the first month of the year, though it’s not totally devoid of games. Indies like Xenoraid, Rise & Shine, and Acorn Assault Rodent Revolution will be available, but this week is mostly about the movies, with Ben Affleck and Mark Wahlberg each having a movie hit home video and the big screen. For Affleck, the assassin tale The Accountant becomes available on DVD/Blu-ray and the gangster flick Live by Night arrives in theaters in wide release. For Wahlberg, it’s two inspired by true life dramas–the disaster at sea Deepwater Horizon hits home video and the story behind the Boston Marathon bombing, Patriots Day, comes to the big screen.
Also arriving on home video this week are seasons of Homeland and Mr. Robot along with the historical drama The Birth of a Nation and the superhero movie Max Steel. Movie goers heading to their local cineplex can also choose from the Jamie Foxx thriller Sleepless, the horror movie The Bye Bye Man, or the sci-fi/fantasy Monster Trucks. Off we go to this week’s list and, as always, release dates are subject to change.
