New Releases for the Week of Sunday, December 17, 2017

Not a big week for games this week before Christmas, with the most notable being episode 3 for Life is Strange: Before the Storm. Christopher Nolan’s superb war movie Dunkirk arrives on home video this week, as well as the divisive mother! from Darren Aronofsky and the more family friendly The LEGO Ninjago Movie. Theater goers have plenty to choose from, with movies opening both on Wednesday and Friday. The mid-week offerings are Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and the musical The Greatest Showman, while Friday sees openings for Father Figures, Pitch Perfect 3, Downsizing, and, in limited release, the Steven Spielberg film The Post. Netflix also premieres a big original film on Friday, the fantasy action flick Bright, starring Will Smith. Time now for this week’s list and, as always, release dates are subject to change.
