It might be cheating a little bit, since the entire Fire and Stone shared universe started mid 2014, but the 17-comic run didn’t end until February of 2015 so to hell with your rules! It counts. Plus, Prometheus: Fire and Stone Omega was the cornerstone of the whole event, the giant issue that saw four very different stories converge together on a warped and twisted version of LV223.
Kelly DeConnick and Agustin Alessio managed to handle a huge cast of characters alongside some very deep themes of what it means to be human and what constitutes a prison, and the duo managed to give the whole run a solid ending. I don’t mean this lightly when I say this entire event hinged on this comic nailing it.
But really, I want to give a shoutout to the entire series, from the violent-filled Aliens vs. Predator arc to the character-driven Predator arc to the downright scary Prometheus arc, each miniseries had something worth experiencing, be it cool ideas, awesome artwork, or just kickass action.
Dark Horse really did something special here with my favorite franchise.
