Quick Time Review: Diablo 2 Resurrected

Pros

  • Feels smooth and runs at a constant 60 FPS.
  • Keeps the orignial look while modernizing it for HD.
  • Console controls feel great and responsive.
  • Keeps the originals tone and gameplay intricacies.

Cons

  • Online play was hit or miss.
  • Lack of a tutorial system for new players may cause a barrier to entry.
  • Graphics could have had a bit more touchups to modenize it.

In Summary

As a person whose gateway into PC gaming was Diablo 2 there is a lot of love and reminiscing about my childhood days playing the original going into this game. That being said I had a GREAT time playing his on PS4 and PS5 and remembering how much fun this game was and is even on modern consoles. However, people coming in only playing Diablo 3 or other action RPGs may be taken aback by the difficulty going in and the lack of tutorials, in general, to bet the most out of the game. If that doesn’t deter you, or you’re still upset about how much they “changed” in Diablo 3, or just want a great action RPG that really ushered in a new age and genre of gaming when it launched, then this will be right up your alley.
