Pros
- Feels extremely comfortable in your hands.
- Great (and bright) looking screen really allows visuals to pop.
- Analog sticks feel great and responsive.
- Insane battery life for a handheld.
- Easy to navigate interface.
- Google play app store allows additional apps and customization.
Cons
- Face buttons are too close to the right analog stick, causing some unintentional button presses.
- Limited onboard storage (though there is an option to add a micro SD card).
- Lack of full customization like your own background or theme can be frustrating.
In Summary
I love the Logitech G Cloud, but it’s a love with some limitations built into it. Yes, this is a handheld built for streaming services like Xbox Cloud or Geforce Now, and when they work it’s brilliant, but when they don’t…well the handheld on its own feels somewhat stunted. That being said emulation does work on it, albeit with some tweaks needing to be made to get the most out of it. The biggest flaw isn’t with the handheld itself however, it’s the cost of entry. With it sitting around $350, not on sale, its hard to make that purchase when items like the Switch or the Steam Deck are either at or around the same price. Yes, they are technically not built for streaming like the G Cloud is, but the wider options both provide make this a harder sell than it should be. I am very optimistic about the future of the G Cloud and its iterations, but unless you’re someone who can’t play their games locally or is traveling with easy access to WiFi then this may not be for you. If you do prefer to stream your games, or prefer to have a more comfortable handheld, this is the one for you.
