PROS:
- Interesting story
- Good acting
- Many branching paths
- Streamer mode in which choices are paused
- Easy gameplay
- Immersion does not break
- Nice balance of humor and tense moments
CONS:
- Some endings are anticlimactic
- Stats don’t seem to mean anything
- Some deaths did not have any weight
IN SUMMARY:
The live action movie/game combo has a nice little niche on the Switch. Mia and the Dragon Princess is a good addition to those type games. As a movie, it’s engaging enough, but with the game element, that adds extra tension as you worry if you are “choosing” correctly. There are many different paths, so it’s a different adventure each time. The characters are likeable and well-acted. They even thought to add a streamer mode, to get your viewers in on the fun of decision making. Overall the story is good and fun, however, you may end up with an anticlimactic or “meh” ending, depending on how you choose. If you’re looking for a quick, easy to play game, and like interactive movies, this is a good one to pick up.
