Quick Time Review: Vampire the Masquerade: Swansong

Pros

  • The story is entertaining once it gains momentum.
  • Levling system is interesting.

Cons

  • Animations are stilted and VERY reminiscent of TellTale games.
  • Voice acting (and lip syncing) is poor, with certain portions notably using different mics or environments to record dialog.
  • Puzzles are infuriating.
  • Certain areas that required a specific action to occur did not trigger and required reloading a save to progress.

In Summary

I think there is a decent game here, but it takes far too long for the story to actually pick up and the stiled movements of characters, poor lip syncing, and odd changes in voices that looks to have been from different recording studios being used makes this a game I would not pay 70$ for on PS5 (which is where it was reviewed on). If this game is under $20 definitely give it a try, otherwise stay away and wait for other titles in the Vampire series.
