Red Hood and the Outlaws #33 Review

Written By: Scott Lobdell

Red Hood and the Outlaws #33 is a story involving Princess KORIAND’R—aka Starfire of the Outlaws—and her quest to rescue slaves throughout the galaxy. She has been posing as a harmless princess as she travels across the galaxy. At each stop, she creates an underground railroad of sorts to ferry slaves away from their prisons before she murders some of the slavers. However, her quest has been creating issues for the other main members of the Outlaws, Red Hood and Arsenal.

Red Hood and Arsenal spend most of the issue trying to track down different members of the organization S.H.A.D.E. in order to figure out what happened to Starfire. Unfortunately, their investigation leads to an encounter with Man-Bat after another terrible discovery. Little does Arsenal and the Red Hood know that their investigation is leading them in the completely wrong direction while Starfire is off tracking other slavers.

Red Hood and the Outlaws #33 isn’t the best issue ever written, but it was enjoyable overall. Arsenal and Red Hood are entertaining characters, and their interaction with Man-Bat was a great little touch. In addition, Starfire’s quest takes her to unique locations where she has run-ins with some crazy new villains. It did seem that her introduction took a while, but the payoff was worth it. Red Hood and the Outlaws looks to continue with a major battle between Starfire and a gigantic slaver.
