Release date: September 6, 2023
Available on: PC, Xbox Series X/S (reviewed on the Series S)
Leaving behind the fantasy realms of The Elder Scrolls series and the post apocalyptic wastelands of the Fallout games, Bethesda’s latest open world RPG Starfield takes to exploring the universe. With around 1000 planets to visit, multiple storylines and endings, and a huge amount of customization make this Bethesda’s most ambitious game to date. It’s easy to sink well over 100 hours into one playthrough, and the game lends itself a lot of replayability. While there are still some of the typical technical issues present in a Bethesda title, most of the glitches tend to be amusing rather than frustrating.

Starfield is Bethesda’s most ambitious game to date, and despite some technical issues, is perhaps their best title and easily a Game of the Year contender. The vast amount of customization and built in replayability can lead to well over 100 hours for a playthrough. The game mixes the best of Hello Games No Man’s Sky and Bethesda’s Elder Scrolls and Fallout series, creating a fantastic RPG to get lost in. One of the must buy games for 2023.
