The Comic Wish List: February 17th 2016

Welcome back to the Wish List! Me here, Joel Raivid (Senior Editor), just wanted to let you know what I think you should be picking up this week. So many comics are coming out each and every week, and I know it can be so hard choosing which ones to get, especially if you are on a budget! So if you are deciding how to spend your money this week on New Comic Book Day, don’t worry, I got you covered!!

It has been way too long since we featured this, so lets kick things off with what we are excited for and are deserving of these honorable mentions!

I have really been enjoying Uncanny Inhumans, and last issue was great so I will definitely be picking that up. We have the return of Sex Criminals over at Image which is super exciting! The next issue of Rick Remender’s Devolution is released this week which I will definately be picking up as the first one left me intrigue. And over at AfterShock Comics its the next issue of American Monster, the first one was so impressive, so if you havent read that make sure you do!

The list below are this weeks comics I thought are most essential though, so read below to see why you have to pick these up!!

DC Comics

saa4Superman American Alien #4

Written by: Max Landis

Art by: Jae Lee

A completely novel tale of the Superman origin which I am loving. The story itself has been superfun, especially the last issue, but on top of that there has been a different artist for each issue and we get to see some Jae Lee art this issue, which is always great. Full disclosure, DC sent us over an early copy to review and this is definitely not an issue to miss!!

Marvel Comics

Marvel Previews 02.17.16 – 06Avengers Stand Off Pleasant Hill #1

Written by: Nick Spencer

Art by: Mark Bagley

This prelude has me really excited, I mean the solicitation sounds like one of those dodgy horror movies about some eerie town hiding lots of secrets. Still I have no idea what this is really about. Nevertheless, strap in and get ready for what is sure to be another meaningful event when Earth’s Mightiest unite!

Everything Else

huck4Huck #4

Written by: Mark Millar

Art by: Rafael Albuquerque

Publisher: Image Comics

This really has been a different kind of superhero book, and for all the right reasons! Written and drawn beautifully, this has been a tale of a regular Joe that has superpowers and just wants to help people. There is both great drama and adventure contained in this series, and I can’t wait to see where the story is going with his brother.

Which books are you looking forward to this Wednesday, let us know in the comments……
