The Comic Wish List: February 18th 2015

Welcome to the thirtieth instalment of the wish list bringing you what comics we, Comics Section Editors Oscar Russell & Joel Raivid, are looking forward to each and every week. So if you are deciding how to spend your money this week on New Comic Book Day, don’t worry, we got you covered!!

Oscar and I hope you are enjoying the new comics podcast which you can check out by subscribing on iTunes. Last week saw the release of some huge comics, this week is no different with DC giving us Justice League, Batman & Robin, and of course the ever improving and “Converging!” FUTURES END. Marvel meanwhile also have some cool stuff coming out with Brian Wood’s last Moon Knight, and the next part of the Black Vortex event in Legendary Star Lord #9. From other publishers we have Image debuting Secret Identities, and the next issue in the hit series, Deadly Class. Valiant also have some great books this week, one is mentioned below, but make sure to check out the second issue of Ivan, Time Walker, the first one was great!

Here are a handful we are particularly looking forward to and think you should pick up!

DC

Written by: Grant Morrison

Art by: Jim Lee & Scott Williams

Ok, so it’s no secret that we really loved the Multiversity Guidebook, so here is hoping for another masterpiece. This week we get another one-shot and it is set in a universe where the Nazi’s won World War II. No idea what to expect but we can be pretty safe in assuming that it’s gonna look amazing with the art of Jim Lee and Scott Williams.

MARVEL

Marvel Previews 13.02.15 – 094Silk #1

Written by: Robbie Thompson

Art by: Stacey Lee

Silk has just been one of those characters that just struck that chord with me and I have really liked her entry into the Marvel Universe. Yes, she had little back story that just seemed to appear out of nowhere, and yes she had an interesting costume, but putting all that aside, Dan Slott introduced us to another supporting member of the Spider crew with ease and she quickly felt at home in the Spider line-up. While, I haven’t read anything from the two creators on this new solo series, that’s not going to stop me picking this up, and it shouldn’t for you too!

THE-VALIANT-003-COVER-RIVERA-d363bThe Valiant #3

Publisher: Valiant

I am loving this limited series, why is it limited!!!! Valiant is definitely hitting it out of the park with great new series’ and this limited one is perfect for anyone that has never read anything Valiant before. Now up to issue 3, I urge you to quickly go out today and pick up the first two issues and then go back out tomorrow and pick this one up. As with the other two issues, expect the full scope of Valiant characters coming together to fact the Immortal Enemy as they help the Eternal Warrior protect the Geomancer. Sounds good doesn’t it??

Which books are you looking forward to this Wednesday, let us know in the comments……
