Welcome to the twenty first instalment of the weekly feature bringing you comic book previews on what we are looking forward to each and every week. Brought to you by our Comics Section Editors, Oscar Russell & Joel Raivid, with the general rule being that they will pick one indie, one DC and one Marvel and if merited an honorable mention (or two) that they think you should go and splash your cash on.
So if you are deciding how to spend your money this week on New Comic Book Day, don’t worry, we got you covered!! Here are a handful we think you should pick up!

So Endgame continues! This book feels a smidgen out of place in the Scott Snyder Batman New 52 books, number one reason because we have never seen him interact with other DC heroes, so it is fun to see Snyder works his stuff on the likes of Wonder Woman et al, all be it they are Jokerised versions of themselves. Reason two, is this book feels like it is an Elseworlds book, which in my opinion have been sorely missed since the launch of New 52. That being said part 1 of Endgame was a potential game changer, and really did shake up the Bats not only seeing his friends like that but also the return (spoiler I guess?) of the Joker. HAHAHA

It’s new Captain America time!! There are a lot of changes afoot the Marvel Universe recently with Thor, Iron Man (also released this week as he becomes Superior, man his head is gonna get BIG!) and all the effects AXIS seems to be having. Speaking of AXIS last weeks showed this Captain America in a different light to any Cap we have seen previously, so it will be interesting to see where Remender is taking our Falcon as Cap. Obviously, Falcon is not the first person to take over the reins of Cap so let’s see if he can put his own unique spin on it. With Steve Rogers not being dead this time too, he will definitely be having some impact on this series and I think everyone is hoping that down the line there will be a Rogers storyline with the Soldier Serum returning and the Cap Shield returning to its rightful person.

The teasers for this series left us all wondering what BOOM! was up to, they were really intriguing and everyone was looking forward to a huge announcement. It was Deep State by Justin Jordan, and this is a series I have been looking forward to since those teasers. Justin Jordan is an incredible writer and the premise for this book based on conspiracy theories looks like a perfect match in making this an awesome offering from BOOM! The idea of what if these conspiracy theories are real and a secret agency is there to make sure that the public never knows is just intriguing and has the potential for so many topics. I have read this first issue and it is definitely the start of something special and one book you should definitely pick up this week.

It’s a space adventure with a difference. The story revolves around an individual who crash lands on a not so great planet. What is great about this story is that it doesn’t go and explain the universe to us and every intrinsic detail, it focuses on the protagonist and him trying to find out how he got where he is with all the aliens and planet stuff in the background. This looks like it is going to be a really good space adventure, one that focuses on the people and not just the surroundings, so if that is something that you are interested in then go pick it up. I have read the first issue and it is a really novel take on the Sci-Fi genre, but without a shadow of a doubt one of the biggest selling points of this book is going to be the art, it is truly magnificent and worth picking up the book for that reason alone.
Which books are you looking forward to this Wednesday, let us know in the comments……
