At WeTheNerdy.com we love our TV and we know you love it to, but we often find that some people are missing out on some great shows because they are either not hugely popular or they have just never heard of the show. Don’t worry though, we are here to highlight some of the shows we think you should be watching this week. So sit back, relax and let us do the hard work of picking out what you should be watching.
This week is a big week with the start of a lot of new and returning shows, its very exciting so this is an extra long Watchlist for your pleasure.
Madam Secretary
Season: 1
Episode: 1
Network: CBS
Day: Sunday
A new political thriller about a former CIA analyst turned academic and now being asked to take the reins of the Secretary of Defence after her predecessors plane goes down over an ocean. Its another Sunday CBS show attempting to empower women and is going to be alongside the other one, The Good Wife, in the schedule. If it is as half as good as The Good Wife, then this show is going to be one to watch! The trailer looks great!

The Good Wife

Speaking of The Good Wife, its back!! After one its strongest seasons to date we are thrown back into the world of Alicia & Co and kick off right where we left off with Diane considering joining Florrick Agos and Alicia having been asked to run for State’s Attorney. I really hope this series pushes on from the last one and doesn’t go back and dwell on ‘The Death’ because the quality from last series has put this show as one of the best written dramas on TV today.

Gotham
Season: 1

Day: Monday
I don’t think anyone is particularly excited in this show but I thought I should mention it anyway… Get out of town if you are not going to be watching this! The creation of a hero, the creation of multiple villians, and then there’s Jim Gordon. This is perhaps the most anticipated pilot of this Fall and it is finally here. No more description necessary just enjoy the trailer.

Scorpion
Season: 1

Day: Monday
I am really excited for this show! As a fan of Numb3rs, I have great appreciation for math and programs that feature exceptional people, and this is exactly the type of show that can fill that void for me. Its based on a real life person so that makes it even more special. I don’t really need to go into the plot as it is fairly simple, a team of genii work together to do stuff and some government agency hires them to do something they can’t do. Its all in the trailer, go watch! If the series is as good as the trailer then we will be in for a treat this fall!

The Blacklist

Its back!! One of my favourite shows of last year and one Netflix seems to think is worth a hell of alot of money! What a platform this has been for James Spader, and with a superb supporting cast, its easy to see why this show was so popular. Last Season Red & Liz narrowly missed out on catching the big baddie Berlin, and this season it seems he is back (with a new face) and he is looking to punish them for not actually catching him.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Season: 2
Episode: 1
Network: ABC
Day: Tuesday
Who knew a movie could turn round a TV show? Well thats what Captain America did for this show. After a lacklustre half of an opening Season, this program really kicked into gear for the latter part of it and after last seasons conclusion it appears that Coulson and his team are wanted fugitives with limited resources in their attempt to continue to keep the world safe. Sounds like a lot of fun?! Lets hope this comes running out the blocks and we dont have to wait 6 months till it starts getting good. Oh, and rumour has it we will get some flashbacks in this episode to the Agent Carter era as a sort of prequel to the mid season show coming in around January time.

Person of Interest

Is this the best show on TV at the moment? I think it is. It provides the perfect amount of procedural and mystery, and if you haven’t seen it go catch up before Tuesday because this is going to be an explosive season. So much happened last year that I don’t want to spoil anything incase you listen to my recommendation and go catchup, but this season a war breaks loose and it is going to be epic. Black-ish

This looks hilarious. I have been a fan of Anthony Anderson since Hang Time, and to see him star in this new show is really exciting. It’s basically about a middle class Black family that are very middle class while the dad wants his family to become more “Black”. The trailer is awesome, and I can’t wait to see where this goes.

How to Get Away With Murder
Season: 1

Another great looking show from Shonda Rhimes. You might look down on me for this but the Mrs and I have been an avid fan of Greys Anatomy for years and this looks like its Law counterpart. It’s all about a group of law students being taught the law practically rather than in class, sounds riveting, no? By now people know what to expect from a Shonda Rhimes show but that doesn’t take anything away from how well written, directed, and produced they are. I am very excited for this (maybe more so than my wife) and once again its another fantastic trailer.
