Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir #4 Review

Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir #4 is the final issue in the four run arc published by Dark Horse Comics, and it is one that fails to capitalize on potential. Don’t misunderstand, Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir is a vastly entertaining comic; however, the comic does fail to finish the arc in a satisfying way.

Son of Dathomir continues to follow Darth Maul on his quest for vengeance against Darth Sidious, Count Dooku, and General Grievous. The Black Sun and Pyke syndicates aid Maul in his quest, but their collective strength isn’t powerful enough to take on the Sith Lords. This lack of strength is the reason why Darth Maul is obsessed with bringing back his mother and leader of the Nightsisters Mother Talzin. Maul hopes that Mother Talzin will assist him in destroying the entire Sith order. Of course, Darth Sidious has plans of his own to defeat Darth Maul’s army.

Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir is one of the better Star Wars comics released lately, if you can forgive the disappointing end. It would be fantastic if another series about Darth Maul came into existence, but it doesn’t appear to be likely. I still wholeheartedly recommend reading the comic.
