Star Wars Legacy #16 follows Han Solo’s granddaughter Ania Solo and her pursuit to get Imperial Knight Jao Assam released from his impending death. Empress Fel originally had Jao imprisoned after he deserted the Imperial Knights and testified on Ania’s behalf during her murder trial. Unfortunately, Empress Fel refuses to even take a meeting with Ania, and Jao ends up escaping from the prison with the help Darth Wredd. The Empress decides to send Ania on a secret mission with a platoon of stormtroopers to rescue Jao from Darth Wredd and return him to the Imperial Garrison.

Legacy #16 was an enjoyable entry in the series, mainly for the story that it tells. Darth Wredd discusses his history with the Jedi/Sith, and his original attempts at living a good and honorable life. He also discusses the outright destruction of his home planet by another Sith master before leading Jao there for an unknown reason. Legacy #16 is very interesting, but I do find it hard to root for Jao. I understand that he is an honorable guy who is being wronged, but his personality isn’t fantastic. I am much more interested in Ania’s story. She is feisty, and plays into the Solo name. To be honest, I’m actually more interested in Darth Wredd than I am Jao. Darth Wredd has seen some horrible things during his lifetime, and I want to keep hearing about them. Ania and Darth Wredd are the best part of Legacy #16 because they make me want to keep reading the series.
