Long time Flash fans have lamented the notable absence of fan favorite Flash , Wally West (the second Scarlett Speedster) from the New 52. Also he new long term creative team has been announced for the Flash, with Robert Vendetti and Van Jensen as writers and Brett Booth on art. The new creative team takes over on April 23rd with Flash # 30, while they introduce Wally West April 30th in Flash Annual # 3, as per USA Today reports.
Vendetti and Jensen are also currently working on Green Lantern for the New 52, while Brett Booth has done work for Nightwing, Teen Titans, Justice League of America and Batman/Superman for the New 52.
The character of Wally West was the second Flash in traditional continuity, who took over the mantle when Barry was assumed dead following Crisis on Infinite Earths. Wally actually was the Flash in most current fans memories, as well as fans from the popular Justice League cartoons as voiced by Michael Rosembaum. However towards the end of old continuity Barry Allen reemerged, and with the Flashpoint relaunch it seemed Wally had been erased. Many fans lamented this, as Wally is such a popular character. Now we will finally get to see him back in the New 52 proper continuity.
2014 is shaping up to be a big year for the Flash, as the CW intends to debut a Flash live action t.v show, starring (Grant Gustin), who made a appearance in the Arrow t.v show, in 2013.
