Captain America 3 Takes On DC

After a lot of speculation, Marvel has announced which phase 3 film will be going against Warner Bros.’ “Batman vs. Superman” on May 6th, 2016. Just a few weeks before the release of The Winter Soldier, Marvel Studios has announced that the Russo brothers will be returning to helm Captain America 3. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige did not release any further details on Cap’s return to the big screen.

With the large amount of hype surrounding the sequel, Captain America: The Winter Soldier is expected to gross almost $100 million opening weekend so it’s no surprise that Marvel has chosen the first avenger to go up against DC’s flagship franchise. Captain America 3 will be the first of two Marvel films to hit theaters in 2016. Many rumors suggest that the second of those films will be Doctor Strange, but nothing official has been released to reinforce these rumors.

Whether or not one of the two companies will move the release date of their respective films is yet to be seen. Rumors have circulated that Batman vs. Superman has already moved its’ release to April 28th, but there has been no word from Warner Bros. Stay tuned to We The Nerdy for more news as these stories develop.
