British actor Charlie Cox has been cast in the upcoming Daredevil television series that Marvel Studios is producing in conjunction with Netflix. El Mayimbe of Latino Review initially broke the story and Variety has confirmed the news. The Daredevil series is one of four Marvel/Netflix series in development; the others being Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage. All four heroes will eventually come together in a Netflix miniseries event The Defenders.
The casting of Charlie Cox follows the news over the weekend that Drew Goddard, who was set to be the showrunner for Daredevil, had stepped down and would be replaced by Steven S. DeKnight.
Fans may recognize Cox from the 2007 film Stardust, and from the HBO show Boardwalk Empire.
